ABOUT US:

KinCairn Residential Childcare Ltd. (KinCairn) is a private limited company that provides a residential childcare and respite childcare service for young people. KinCairn was established in December 2023 and was initiated to provide a bespoke and therapeutic service in the community using over 20 years’ experience of one of the company Directors, Mr Duane Cairns. We are registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide 24/7/365 care and support.

Tarvit Cottage is located in a prime location within Fife and in easy reach of Stirling, Perth, Tayside and Edinburgh. The Cottage is situated in a beautiful area located on the outskirts of Cupar. It is close to local shops and leisure facilities.

It is a traditional stone farm cottage, recently converted to a bespoke residential care setting. It sits within its own grounds with ample outdoors space and access to a local countryside walking route. It is on a single level, with good access. There is a lounge/dining room, kitchen, a bathroom, an office and an additional living room. There are 3 bedrooms with en-suite facilities for young people and additional 2 bedrooms for care team members doing sleep over duties.

The cottage has recently been fully re-decorated to ensure a caring warm and welcoming environment. Tarvit Cottage will accommodate three young people aged 6 – 18.

Each young person will have their own furnished bedroom with en-suite. Young person is encouraged to personalise their room. This approach to room personalisation is excellent for fostering a sense of ownership and comfort for our young people. Providing a furnished bedroom with an en-suite offers a solid foundation of privacy and independence, while allowing them to decorate and add personal touches supports their self-expression and individuality. Encouraging them to display personal items like photographs, posters, or ornaments further strengthens this by helping them create a space that truly reflects their identity and interests. In addition, such flexibility in decorating can contribute positively to their well-being, making the environment feel more like a home.

The cottage has furnishings of a high standard which are regularly replaced. There is a rolling programme of decorating within the house.
