ABOUT US:

KinCairn Residential Childcare Ltd. (KinCairn) is a private limited company providing residential and respite care for young people. Established in December 2023, KinCairn was created with a clear purpose: to offer a relationship based and nurturing service where young people feel safe, supported  and understood.

We are registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide 24/7/365 care and support, delivered by a skilled, trauma informed staff team who bring warmth, consistency and professional expertise to every aspect of daily life. Our team is committed to building trusting relationships, promoting wellbeing and supporting young people to feel valued and able to reach their full potential.

KinCairn’s approach is grounded in compassion, stability  and meaningful connection ensuring every young person receives care that is personalised and centred around their individual needs.

Tarvit Cottage is located in a prime area within Fife, with easy access to Stirling, Perth, Tayside and Edinburgh. Sitting on the outskirts of Cupar, the cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is within close reach of local shops, leisure facilities and community amenities.

Tarvit Cottage is a traditional stone farm cottage that has been thoughtfully converted into a warm, nurturing residential care setting. It sits within its own grounds, offering generous outdoor space for play, relaxation and exploration as well as direct access to a peaceful countryside walking route.

The cottage is all on one level, providing good accessibility throughout. Inside, young people have access to a comfortable lounge/dining room, a homely kitchen, a bathroom and an additional living room for quiet time or shared activities. There are three bedrooms with en‑suite facilities for young people, along with two further bedrooms for care team members who provide sleep over support.

Tarvit Cottage accommodates three children / young people aged 6–18, offering a calm, nurturing setting that reflects their individual needs and stages of development.

Each young person has their own furnished bedroom with an en‑suite, giving them privacy, comfort and a space that feels truly their own. We encourage young people to personalise their room with things that matter to them such as photos, posters, colours, ornaments or favourite items.

This helps them build a sense of ownership, identity and belonging, and supports their wellbeing by making the cottage feel more like home.

Tarvit Cottage is designed to feel safe, welcoming and homely. A place where young people can settle, grow and feel a sense of belonging.
